Summer Theatre Interns

Are you a student who loves theatre and wants to learn more about what happens behind the scenes? Doylestown Theatre Academy is looking for Summer Camp Interns to join our team and train in the role of Stage Manager for our summer theatre camp shows.

This is a great opportunity to build your skills in technical theatre while earning a weekly stipend and working alongside theatre professionals and young performers. 

​

What You'll Learn and Do:

  • Shadow and assist the Directors and Choreographers during rehearsals

  • Run Music during rehearsals and possibly performances

  • Record cues for music, lights, and props during the rehearsal process

  • Assist with running rehearsals and keeping the cast organized

  • Operate or assist with sound and/or lighting  during performances

  • Help create prop plots, costume plots, shift plots, lighting and sound cue sheets and general backstage organization. 

  • Learn how to manage a live production and become a vital part of the show team.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A middle or high school student with some prior stage crew or backstage experience

  • Responsible, organized, and eager to learn

  • Interested in technical theatre, stage management, or production

  • Works well with young performers and adults

  • Positive, hard-working, and a strong communicator
